A CIVIL REMEDY FOR DRUGS?

A CIVIL REMEDY FOR DRUGS?

I ran into some cops inside a retail business again. I was struck by how edgy they were. Like that character in “Transporter” who says “Did you open the package?” It seems like the “War on Drugs” attracts people who are already edgy, and turns them into total crazies. Or it turns even normal people into hard-boiled eggs, after a few years trying to stop people from making their own choices to use drugs.

The prohibitionists and the users are paying big money to fight a war in their own community. And we are all encouraged to like it. The result is PTSD war crazies living among us. To protect the users, we are letting them use their money to cultivate cops who are edgy war crazies. When I have a cat stuck in a tree, I don’t need some war crazies showing up with a fake happy face like Captain Spaulding in “House of 1000 Corpses”.

Republicans believe in civil-court remedies to reduce abortion in Texas, and sex-confusion in Florida schools and homeless camps. So why not discourage drug dealers with a civil system? The reason there are drug dealers is money. If drug dealers were forced to provide ID or records or something, and users or their families (or other victims) were able to sue to get that money any time someone was injured, would that not deprive users of drugs and the opportunity to kill themselves? Without building an army of government crazies and case law to enable them?

Without me having to pay cops to search my car, to protect someone else from his own choices?

Lawyers should love this. Better to sue rich drug dealers, than represent broke people in criminal court.

The reason people oppose this, is because the war on drugs and putting people in prison is a business for sheriffs and politicians. Drug enforcement is an excuse, a pathway, to do the other things they want to do, to come on my property armed or tear apart my car and lie about me. And to get elected, by people for whom watching football is not enough, they want to go out and attack their neighbors, and get some sense of emotional or moral gain from it the same as watching football.

They pervert the weakness some people have for drugs, into an excuse to attack whatever targets they want, using your money to attack you.

Whatever argument they come up with against a civil-lawsuit solution to drug dealing, they are intellectually dishonest. Any other problem that doesn’t give them an opportunity to shoot black people and plant drugs in hippies’ cars, they like a civil solution.
