UNDERSTANDING WHY NEWSPAPERS LIKE FLORIDA TODAY SUPPORT PROSECUTORS LIKE PHIL ARCHER TORTURING THE INNOCENT WITH PERJURY
Jailhouse informants recite news reporters’ own gossip back to them, leading them to conclude the prosecutor is doing a good job convicting people in the public interest. Notice in the story below about Brittanee Drexel, how the news channel is able to corroborate the story of the coerced witness and believe he is credible in at least three ways.
- The liar coerced by police recites the story he saw on the same channel that is interviewing him. “Over the phone, Brown described the abandoned stash house to News10NBC, and it was consistent with the house we saw when we went to McClellanville to investigate in 2016.” This is similar to how jailhouse witness Julie Madara claimed James Mulrenin went over his balcony in a struggle, after this was reported on local News 6 (Madara was later coached to change this story to better fit the fake evidence).
- The liar coerced by police, recites the same story police are reciting. “Much of Brown’s account is consistent with, and even more detailed than, what the FBI has stated publicly.” They conveniently ignore the falsely accused suspect, when he points out everything about the case was both on TV and told to him by police. “‘The only thing I’ve known is what I’ve seen on TV and bulletins and what the FBI has been telling me,’ said Taylor in that 2016 interview.”
- The liar coerced by police, claims the police have not promised him anything. “Brown says he was not promised any deals in exchange for his cooperation.”
